What are the benefits of participating in children’s gymnastics?

Developing and maintaining a child’s love of physical activity makes an important contribution to future fitness and health.

At the Sandgate PCYC under 6 gymnastics is all about having fun while developing important gross and fine motor skills. Many skills are developed including

• Balance

• Strength

• Hand eye coordination

• Listening

• Participation

Our friendly atmosphere makes joining in pleasant for parents and carers as well. Come along and meet others in the community.

Our Classes

Kindergym - 2-3 yrs

This program is specially designed for children between 2 and 3 years of age. Parents or carers accompany children while our highly qualified coaches direct a range of games and activities that are stimulating, safe and lots of fun.  Games and activities include music, hand equipment (balls, happy sticks, ribbons etc, tunnels, hills, stairs, trampolines and balance beams).  There are things to swing from, crawl through and roll down…and there is lots of fun.

Kindergym - 3-4 yrs

This program is very similiar to the Under 3 program. Parents and carers still need to participate with your children. Our coaches will organise games and activities that are designed to be a little more challenging for this age group yet still lots of fun.

Prep Gym- For those attending Prep School

This program is specially designed for prep age children. An adult need not accompany children participating in these classes. Our coaches will organise games and activities that are designed to be a little more challenging for this age group yet still lots of fun.

Games and Activities

Music, hand equipment, tunnels hills, stairs, trampolines and balance beams. Also learn to do handstands, cartwheels, ball games…and have lots of fun.

All members that participate in kindergym classes must become members of Queensland Gymnastics. Yearly fees are as follows:

Due to having strict control on our class sizes, you must contact the PCYC and book into a class.

We cannot guarantee that you will be able to join a class if no booking has been made.
